Poses are odd... A bit too extreme maybe. I also feel like people don't stand up facing each other straight on with their whole bodies when they talk.

A style like this, blocked but not inbetweened, can be hard to assess. Without how little there is to it (this doesn't even look like blocking plus), it kind of just lookes unfinished rather than stylized. I would suggest checking out "Frank Face in 'pun fiction'" on youtube for an example of stepped 3D animation done well.

At first I was impressed by the cloth, seemed like a faux stop motion, but nothing really moved, at least not consistently.

This might just be some sort of rendering issue, but it doesn't really move very much.
