The camera work makes things a bit confusing

Good but i think you could do more subtle expressions and holding some keyframes and poses.

The animation's presentation is very well done. Not only were the visuals great and the characters' movements seemed fluid and natural, but the execution and camera work in the reveal of the second character offer a nice twist to the scene's context.
