Who’s she talking to?

Caleb Rankin:

Personally I think it was a wise choice to focus on one character instead of two for this piece. As animators we often times bite off more than we can chew. My critique would be that I would pull the camera in a lot closer to the character so we can see the subtle facial expressions and mouth movements that go with the dialogue. Waist up would be much better for that.

This was a pretty good effort, good overall movement. But some parts of the movement were a little jumpy or more 'energetic' than what coincided with the mood the audio was setting.

Beyond that it's more an issue with creative choices. You used only one character which makes animating this much easier, but the lack of interaction with a second character in an animation where the interaction in the audio being so key makes this feel lacking.

You also used a wide full body shot while allowing extra space to fill in some environmental story telling, however this single shot makes it difficult to focus on the characters emotions and facial expressions. And instead forces the viewer to have to fill in the gaps with the characters body language, which as mentioned above gives an 'energetic' vibe which doesn't fully match.
