This is so charming!!

What a respectful berb listening.
The background though having a lot of negitive space still feels full in explaining the setting the fence, though it wasn't there in the second shot you could tell it where it's be busy and that also keeps the scene form being to busy. The character is really well drawn and animated as well as the bird I'd love to see what these two get up to in his return to his high life.
The only nitpick is his neck looks like it stretches a bit strange as he gets up as iff his head lead his body. But you can still tell what the movement was supposed to be. Also his design is really well fit showing he might be at a low.
nice job!
Jessica Kelleghan:
Love the take when he relaxes to catch his breath realistic and the mouth movements are really smooth

Not bad! One thing I'd suggest is you try to work a little looser. Right now things feel stiff because you're attempting to go too quickly to "clean lines." It isn't about being super clean, that comes at the end. To begin, work on your base forms and make sure they are solid and appealing, THEN add your clean final lines. :) Good luck with future entries!
