The camera is too far away from the action, so it's hard to see the character's expressions.

I think a closer shot would be more effective than these wide shots.

characters are stiff and there is a lot of isolated movement.

I like the set up and your ideas are all there! There’s some problems holding your animation back. A big part is a lack of hip movement which is required for pretty much any motion. Their faces are also pretty frozen and the character who’s sitting needs to move his legs at least a little bit so they’re not completely dead. Be careful with thr 180 degree rule. In the first shot, the sitting down character is facing screen left and in the next shot that has him, he’s facing screen right. I think once you start incorporating more hop movement and animation principles, your piece will immediately increase in quality.
