Early days. The characters would have benefited from facing each other or have their eyes focused/turned towards the other.

Cool to see you getting started. I am excited by what you might make if you stick to it, but this is not ready for the competition.
Learn to pose the whole body. Look up animation tutorials online for learning things like timing, weight, arcs, and how to transition from pose to pose without it looking 'float-ey'.
There is no shame in being new, but you do wanna get started on learning the basics.
As for what you did make, the lip sync needs work as well. Some of your mouth shapes are much to big, much too extreme. Sometimes less is more when it comes to making mouth shapes believable. You don't want the mouth that large that often, or the shape that oval or stretched.
In any case, I am rooting for you. I hope you enter again in the future.
