look up "12 Principles of Animation" on youtube (especially Alan Becker's vid).

The splitscreen looks really good, I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into the top character's motions! The arcs are super strong, I'd just make sure to show more arcs and weight transfer in the first two shots. Great work otherwise!
