I feel like it has enough "Iron Giant" nostalgia that when it's clear the deadline is in the way, the "blue pencil scene approach" which in this case is red, is oddly welcome.

Postscript: Though a finished scene would be even better.

Great job! I think working on the character animation a bit more would have help improved but I got the story from what you created anyway, so great job at setting up the scene and the animation!
