I think that you have some good foundations here. Most of my critique is that you could maybe focus a bit more on the story. I think that the models you chose are fine, but I think that because you were able to spend less time on facial animations and lip sync, you could have allocated some more of your time to building the environment. You could also benefit from some camera changes. You can focus on one character, or even both, but I would recommend a different camera angle. Because you chose to keep both characters on screen at the same time, the audience would expect to see both characters actions and reactions. The mannequin on the left is pretty much completely static until his reaction to hearing the muffins are burnt. A good way to think about it is that each character exists in their own space, they are not just an NPC that's only there to react to stimulus from the main character. I would think a bit more about what character 2 is doing before he hears the news that the muffins are burnt. Maybe he is on his phone, or maybe he is anticipating the muffins, so he is in the process sof walking into the kitchen to check on them.
